JESSICA FERGUSON SINCE 2019

I have lived in Arkansas City, Desha County seat, for about 20 years. I enjoy spending time on the Mississippi River with my family & friends & riding the levee enjoying the wildlife. I started working in the Assessors office in 2008 doing the business personal assessments. Soon after that, I started working with the GIS mapping and real-estate department. In 2012 I became the Chief Deputy and wore whatever hat Mrs. Gaye Brown told me I was going to wear that day. I love working in the Assessor’s office & being able to help the citizens of Desha County. I always knew this is where I belonged. When Mrs. Gaye retired I decided to take my chance. In 2019 I was sworn in to become Assessor. I strive every day to do the best job possible for the taxpayers. It has been a joy!
